Booking Terms and Conditions
In these Booking Terms and Conditions, 'you' and 'your' means all persons named on the booking (including anyone who is added or substituted at a later date). 'We', 'us' and 'our' means Wortley Cottage Guest House. ‘OTA’ means a third party online travel agent eg. Booking,com, Airbnb, Expedia. 'Direct Booking' means any booking not made through an OTA, i.e. our website, telephone or face to face.
- Direct Booking Terms.
- Debit/Credit cards are required to secure the booking.
- All bookings require a 25% non-refundable deposit.
- Direct Booking Cancellation.
- Contact us directly as soon as possible if you need to cancel the booking.
- If the booking is cancelled less than 14 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be made.
- If the booking is cancelled less than 5 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.
- In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
- We will attempt to re-let the rooms, if fully re-let we will return any fees less the original 25% non-refundable deposit.

- All OTA booking modifications are managed via the relevant OTA website.
- We cannot cancel the OTA booking for you.
- Arrival Time.
- 3pm - 7pm, for Direct Bookings.
- 5pm - 7pm, for OTA Bookings.
- For early pickup of keys and/or drop of cases there is no charge.
- For early arrival from 12pm and full use of facilities there is an additional fee payable (OTA £24, Direct £12). This is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
- For early morning arrival before 11am we advise booking the previous night as well to guarantee the availability.
- Late Arrivals.
- We understand delays happen. Please contact us a soon as possible if you think you will be arriving later than 7pm or later than the time you have previously requested. If required we can send you details of our Key Safe.
- Departure Time.
- The rooms must be vacated by 10:30am.
- Subject to availability you may be able to stay till 11:30am, please ask the evening before departure.
- We can store cases etc for later pickup if needed, please ask the evening before departure.
- For afternoon/evening departures please book the next night.
- The rooms must be vacated by 10:30am.
- Insurance.
- We strongly advise you to take out a Travel Insurance even when travelling within the UK in case of any eventuality. There are many providers of single trip insurance that can be found on the internet, local insurance brokers or The Post Office. Please make sure you have suitable cover.
- Force Majeure.
- Force Majeure. We cannot accept liability or responsibility for any alterations, delay or cancellation or any other loss or damage caused by Acts of God; war; civil strife; riot; rebellion; terrorist action; industrial disputes/strikes; escape of water; fire; sickness; bad weather; floods, storms, earthquakes; livestock; epidemics; pandemics; acts of any government, or public authority; changes of Law including deleted legislation; changes imposed by re-scheduling and or disruption of airlines, ferries; refusal of a grant of Licence; or any cause beyond our control.
- Pets.
- Please contact us directly to make sure we have a suitable room available.
- Pets are not allowed to sleep inside bed covers, nor on-top of the bed covers.
- Pets are not to be left unattended in our rooms.
- Pets are allowed in the breakfast room after checking with other guests.
- No more than two pets are allowed in each room.

The building is difficult to access via wheelchair. We have steps to all entrances and there is a flight of stairs with twin handrails to the first floor where the guest rooms are located.
The showers in each room have differing heights, due again to the nature of the building.
Having said that, our daughter who has mobility problems, uses a rollator and mobility scooter to get around the village.
