Wortley is in the centre of the Wharncliffe Estate and is between Sheffield, Barnsley, and Penistone.

With easy access to the M1 J35a & J36 via the A161. The A629 passes through the village, south to Sheffield and north to Huddersfield.

The A616 will take you west to Stocksbridge with the Fox Valley Shopping Village and Steel Works. Then onto the Woodhead Pass and Manchester, passing through Midhope, Langsett and The Flouch..

Our accommodation is ideally located for visiting friends or family in the Thurgoland, Oxspring, Deepcar, High Green, Grenoside, Tankersley, Pilley, Wombwell, Stocksbridge and Chapeltown. We’re in the S35 area and close to S36.

We are only a five-minute walk from Wortley Hall Hotel.

The TPT (Trans Pennine Trail) runs through the village and gives you access to miles of off-road walking and cycling. The main trail heads west to Dunford Bridge and east to the Don Valley.

We’re on the edge of The Peak District National Park with its open moorland and deep valleys.

Local attractions include Wortley Top Forge, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Wentworth Wood House, Stainbrough Castle, Wentworth Castle Gardens (National Trust), Cannon Hall Farm, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and the National Coal Mining Museum.
